2.1.4.4. Hoses and connections

Check on existence of leaks

COOLING SYSTEM

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check hoses of a radiator and an oven on all length. Replace worn-out hoses. Check reliability of collars and a condition of hoses under them.
2. Examine all elements of the cooling system on existence of leaks. Existence of leak in the cooling system is demonstrated by deposits of white or rusty color in the field of leak. Replace the corresponding elements or laying if it is necessary.

POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift the car and examine the fuel tank and a hose of a jellied mouth on existence of punctures, cracks and other damages. Check reliability of connections.
2. Check all rubber hoses and metal tubes going from the fuel tank. Check reliability of connections and fastenings.

ENGINE OIL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Examine area around a cover of the valvate mechanism, a head of the block of cylinders, an oil filter and an oil case on leak existence. Replace the corresponding laying or consolidations.

LIQUID OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Examine hoses of cooling liquid of the automatic transmission on existence of damages or leaks.

SYSTEM OF THE HYDRAULIC BOOSTER OF STEERING

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a condition of the hoses connecting a tank of hydraulic liquid, the pump and the steering mechanism.
2. Check reliability of connections and an inhaling of collars.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM COOLANT

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Air conditioning system is filled with liquid coolant under pressure. At detection of leak from air conditioning system immediately address experts.

BRAKE FLUID

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Examine area around connections of brake tubes on the main brake cylinder and the basis of a tank of brake fluid on leak existence. Check connections of tubes on the ABS hydraulic module.
2. Check supports of brakes and brake tubes under the car bottom.

OIL OF THE MECHANICAL TRANSMISSION

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Examine area around a driveshaft epiploon behind the transmission on existence of traces of leak. Check the level of oil and replace an epiploon if it is necessary.

LIQUID OF THE MAIN TRANSFER

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Examine area around consolidations and epiploons of the driveshaft and half shafts on leak existence. Check the level of oil and replace epiploons if it is necessary.

Definition of a source of leak and type of liquid

If at once it is difficult to define a source of leak and type of liquid, leave the car for the night and put a piece of a pure cardboard under the alleged place of leak. Next morning even small leak will be noticeable.

VACUUM HOSES

Under the influence of high temperatures in a motor compartment gradually there is a hardening and destruction of the rubber and plastic hoses ensuring functioning of various units of the engine and system of decrease in toxicity of exhaust gases. It is necessary to check periodically a condition of hoses, existence on them of cracks and hardening, weakening of connections, tightness violation.

Part of hoses fasten by means of collars. Check durability of an inhaling of collars as weakening of fastening leads to tightness violation. In those places in which collars are not provided check reliability of consolidation of a hose on unions, loss of elasticity in such connections owing to swelling or hardening of hoses is not allowed, otherwise tightness of connection is broken.

Vacuum hoses can be distinguished on color or on the color strips pasted on them. For various systems of the engine vacuum hoses with various thickness of walls, resistance to compression by the atmospheric pressure and thermal stability are used. When replacing track that new vacuum hoses in accuracy corresponded to replaced.

Often the hose can be checked only after removal from the car. If several hoses are removed, then previously put tags on interfaced the union and hoses subsequently not to break their relative positioning.

When checking a condition of vacuum hoses examine also plastic tees at the same time. Check existence on them of cracks, and also deformations of a hose in the place of a prileganiye to the tee union which can be a tightness cause of infringement.

For check of leaks on a characteristic sound it is possible to use a piece of a vacuum hose with an internal diameter about 6,0 mm. Having put the end of a hose to the checked place, listen through an opposite opening in a hose. Characteristic "hissing" will indicate leak existence.

FUEL HOSES

Check a condition of rubber fuel hoses, existence on them of wear tracks or deterioration in appearance. Especially attentively check hoses in places of excesses and near connections, for example, in a junction with the fuel filter.

When replacing the fuel highway on injector engines the new highway has to correspond in the accuracy applied in fuel system of engines of this type.

For fastening of hoses of the fuel highway spring collars which lose elasticity over time are usually used. When dismantling connection such collar needs to be unbent then elasticity is lost finally. When replacing hoses always replace spring collars with collars with fastening by the screw.

METAL TUBES

Metal tubes are usually used in the fuel highway for connection of the fuel pump with the fuel pressure regulator on a comb of nozzles. Check existence on tubes of the sdeformirovanny (twisted) sites and the small arising cracks.

When replacing it is necessary to establish only seamless steel tubes. Tubes from copper or aluminum do not approach as do not maintain vibration loadings from the engine.

Check a condition of metal tubes and unions of system of a hydraulic actuator of brakes in a junction with the main brake cylinder and the batcher (if it is provided), existence of cracks and the weakened connections is not allowed. At detection of any signs of leak of brake fluid immediately carefully check all contour of system of a hydraulic actuator of brakes.
