11:12. Pumping of the brake system

GENERAL INFORMATION

Effective work of any hydraulic system is possible only after removal from it all air. Process of removal of air of the brake system is called pumping. When pumping use only new, pure brake fluid. Before pumping fill a tank with brake fluid above mark MOVE and you watch that the level of brake fluid did not fall below this mark.

Pumping order

Pumping of the brake system on models till 1998 of release with the ABS 3-channel system needs to be carried out in the following order:

  – brake of the left forward wheel;
  – brake of the right forward wheel;
  – brake of the left back wheel;
  – brake of the right back wheel.

Pumping of the brake system on models since 1998 of release with the ABS 4-channel system needs to be carried out in the following order:

  – brake of the left back wheel;
  – brake of the right forward wheel;
  – brake of the right back wheel;
  – brake of the left forward wheel.

Main method

Use of this method requires the assistant.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a plastic cap from the valve of production of air on a brake of the first wheel.
2. Put on a rubber tube the valve.
3. Lower the second end of a tube in the capacity filled with brake fluid.
4. Check that the level of brake fluid in a tank was above the mark MIN and ask the assistant to squeeze out a brake pedal several times and to leave it pressed.
5. Turn off the pumping valve (approximately on one turn) and wait until brake fluid flows down. When the stream of liquid stops, close the valve, ask the assistant to release slowly a pedal of a brake and check liquid level in a tank.
6. Repeat point 5 until in the following brake fluid is vials of air.
7. Reliably tighten the pumping valve, pick up the phone and put on a cap.
8. Repeat operation of pumping on brakes of other wheels.

Pumping with use of a set with the unilateral valve

In a rubber tube of such set the unilateral valve preventing hit of air and old brake fluid back in the brake system is installed. Capacity for collecting old brake fluid can be also included in the package.

Pumping with use of a set for pumping under pressure

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Having connected a set for pumping under pressure to a tank of brake fluid, for pumping of system it is rather simple to open pumping valves in turn for a slitiya of old brake fluid and production of air.

Check (all methods)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Upon completion of pumping wash away the spilled brake fluid, reliably twirl valves of pumping and establish on them caps. Double-check the level of brake fluid.
