3.3.7. Gas-distributing belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tools for adjustment of a gas-distributing belt

The following special tools will be necessary for you for adjustment of a gas-distributing belt: tools for blocking of asterisks of camshafts (KM-800-1 and KM-800-2), the tool for blocking of an asterisk of a bent shaft (KM 800-10), a wedge for a gas-distributing belt (KM-800-30) and the tool for synchronization of asterisks of camshafts (KM-800-20).

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator and install the N1 piston in VMT.
2. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft.
3. Check whether synchronizing tags are correctly combined.
4. Install the KM-800-10 tool on an asterisk of a bent shaft and stop a shaft.
5. Stop camshafts, the KM-800-1 tool (marking 1 and 2, the red handle) the KM-800-2 tool (marking 3 and 4, the green handle) for shaft of the left head is intended for shaft of the right head of cylinders, and. Clamp the tool lever on a flange of the water pump.
6. Install the tool for blocking of asterisks of camshafts (the drawing at the left). Tags of TORAHS have to be directed up (the drawing on the right).
7. Weaken a nut of a pulley of a natyazhitel of a gas-distributing belt.
8. Turn a pulley of a natyazhitel clockwise against the stop and tighten a nut.
9. Weaken bolts top (the drawing at the left) and lower (the drawing on the right) the directing pulleys of a gas-distributing belt.
10. Take off a gas-distributing belt. If you did not use special tools before taking off a belt, turn a bent shaft approximately on 60 ° back. Thus, the probability of contact of valves with pistons decreases.
11. Carefully examine a belt on existence of wear and damages, if necessary replace it.

Prevention

There are two types of belts and two types of natyazhitel which are established on the described engines. Depending on type of a natyazhitel also the belt type depends. The modified natyazhitel are established on model of engines of 1997 and later years of release and have marking E on a pulley. Usual natyazhitel are established on the models of engines produced till 1997 and have marking of D. If you had difficulties with definition like natyazhitel, address the expert.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clean asterisks of shaft and pulleys.
2. Combine synchronizing tags of asterisks of camshafts of the right head of cylinders (1 and 2) (the drawing at the left) and left (the drawing on the right) with cuts in a back cover of a gas-distributing belt and combine them anew if you turned a bent shaft on 60 °.
3. Combine a tag of an asterisk of a bent shaft with a cut in a casing of the oil pump (are specified by shooters).
4. Put on a belt asterisks. Shooters on a belt have to be turned in the direction of rotation of a belt, and the double line on a belt has to coincide with a synchronizing tag of an asterisk of a bent shaft.
5. Stop a gas-distributing belt by means of a wedge.
6. In the engines equipped with a usual natyazhitel, the belt needs to be put on at first on the lower directing pulley and on asterisks of camshafts of the left head of cylinders. The tag (it is specified by an arrow) on an arm of a pulley of a natyazhitel will help to define type of a natyazhitel.
7. In the engines equipped with the modified natyazhitel, the belt needs to be put on at first a pulley of a natyazhitel.
8. Then the belt needs to be put on asterisks of camshafts of the right head of cylinders.
9. Pass a belt over the lower directing pulley.
10. Weaken a bolt of the lower directing pulley. Turn a pulley counterclockwise to pull the left part of a belt. Check that synchronizing tags were still combined.
11. Tighten a pulley bolt.
12. Weaken a bolt of the top directing pulley. Turn a pulley counterclockwise to pull the top part of a belt. Check that synchronizing tags were still combined. Tighten a pulley bolt.
13. Weaken a nut of a pulley of a natyazhitel and turn the pulley lever counterclockwise so that the distance between a plate and an emphasis made 0,5–1,5 mm (it is specified by an arrow). Tighten a nut.
14. Remove all blocking tools and turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions.
15. Check that synchronizing tags were still combined.
16. Weaken a nut of a natyazhitel and install the lever of a natyazhitel as shown in the drawing (see rice. Adjustment of a pulley of a natyazhitel). The tag (A) has to be 3-4 mm higher than an emphasis tag (In). Tighten a nut.
17. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions. Check that synchronizing tags were still combined. If necessary carry out adjustment.
