GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

At installation of covers of bearings of a bent shaft it is necessary to use new bolts.

Arrangement of tags of identification of covers of radical bearings

Covers of bearings

Only covers of N1 and N2 bearings (are specified by shooters) have factory marking.

Removal of a bent shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove an asterisk of a bent shaft, a chain and a flywheel.
2. Evenly and gradually unscrew bolts and remove the main block of bearings from the basis of covers of radical bearings.
3. Remove pistons and rods.
4. Check an axial side play of a bent shaft.
5. Mark covers of radical bearings from 1 to 5.
6. Gradually and consistently unscrew bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings.
7. Uncover radical bearings together with inserts.
8. Remove a bent shaft and remove a back oil sealing ring of a bent shaft. Remove the top inserts of radical bearings.

Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft

Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft is made when it is installed in the block of cylinders of the engine.

Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft with use of the indicator of hour type

Check of an axial side play is made by the indicator of hour type which arm is established on the block of cylinders of the engine, and the measuring tip leans in an end face of a bent shaft. Moving a bent shaft from an emphasis against the stop along an axis measure the size of an axial side play. The result of measurement indicates uses of new persistent half rings the need.

Check of an axial side play of a bent shaft with use of probes

In the absence of the indicator of hour type the axial side play of a bent shaft can be measured by a probe edge, having moved a bent shaft to one party against the stop and having measured a gap between the radical N 2 bearing and a bent shaft.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear a bent shaft, using the corresponding solvent and drain it compressed air.
2. Check radical and conrod necks of a bent shaft for wear, corrosion and cracks.
3. Wear of a conrod neck is characterized by metal knocks during the operation of the engine, especially under loading on small turns and reduction of pressure of oil.
4. Wear of radical necks of a bent shaft is characterized by strong vibration of the engine and the metal knock increasing at increase in turns of the engine and also reduction of pressure of oil.
5. Check necks of a bent shaft for a roughness. Any noticeable roughness specifies that the bent shaft needs to be pereshlifovat or replaced.
6. If the bent shaft was перешлифован, check agnails around openings for lubricant. In the presence of agnails remove them with a small file or a shaber and carefully clear openings and channels of shaving.
7. Using a micrometer, measure diameter of radical and conrod necks of a bent shaft and compare results to technical requirements. You perform measurement of necks in several points both on diameter, and on neck length that will allow to reveal ovality and conicity if they are present.
8. Check the surfaces of contact of oil consolidation on each end of a bent shaft for wear and other damages. If wear of a neck from consolidation big, then, perhaps, is required replacement of a bent shaft.
9. On some engines if necks of a bent shaft were pereshlifovana on the repair size, it is necessary to establish inserts of the increased size.

Installation of a bent shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Take a bent shaft from the block of cylinders.
2. Clear a back part of an insert and the place of its installation in the block of cylinders and covers of radical bearings. Establish inserts on the places.
3. Oil a working surface of an insert pure engine and install a bent shaft in the block of cylinders of the engine.
4. Measure an axial side play of a bent shaft.
5. Grease the lower inserts in covers of radical bearings with pure engine oil and check that ledges on inserts are in cover grooves. Establish covers of radical bearings with the first on the fourth and screw them, without tightening.
6. Check that a back cover of the bearing pure and dry then in grooves from each party of a cover put a layer of sealant and install a cover on the block of cylinders of the engine.
7. Grease bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of a bent shaft with pure engine oil, insert them into covers and tighten by hand.
8. Gradually and in the diagonal sequence from the center to edge tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings in stages.
9. After tightening of bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings press sealant into a groove of a back cover of a bent shaft. Filling of a groove with sealant needs to be made until sealant appears from the opening shown by an arrow. Wipe surplus of sealant.
10. Check that the bent shaft rotates smoothly and without jammings.
11. Install pistons with rods.
12. Check that covers of bearings both the main block of bearings pure and dry. Install the main block on the engine, at the same time the tube on the block has to be directed to a gas distribution mechanism drive chain. Then establish bolts and in the diagonal sequence from the center to edge tighten bolts the required moment.
13. Establish a new left oil sealing ring of a bent shaft, then establish a flywheel, chains, asterisks and a head of the block of cylinders.
